What is new in Desktop Authority 8.0
Computer-Based Management
Launch applications, patch computers, install software and collect inventory from computers that do not have a currently logged on user.
Wake On LAN Deployment
Use the flexible Wake On LAN system to wake computers up across the network, without confronting the router configuration problems that normally plague Wake On LAN tools. Now wake computers up during non-business hours to patch them, install software, or run other maintenance tasks.
Scheduled Profile Elements
In addition to the new Startup and Shutdown timing elements, you can schedule profile elements for daily, weekly, monthly or one time execution. Even create a saved schedule so routine tasks run at set times.
Flexible End-User Notifications
Now, when you patch a computer, install software or make other changes, you can notify the end user, give them the option to defer the action and specify default actions if a user is not there when the task starts.
Manage Windows Servers
With computer based management profile elements, you can now patch, update, collect inventory information or take other actions to manage Windows servers.
Group Policy Based Agent Deployment
Desktop Authority now uses group policy to deploy the agent and any prerequisites. This enables the agent to be distributed to servers, unattended computers and computers where the user has not logged off and back on for a while. The new Desktop Authority Deployment Readiness Wizard walks users step by step through configuring the group policies necessary for deployment.
Integration with Remote Support Center
Now Desktop Authority users can use the Remote Support Center console as a web-based substitute for the remote management console built into Desktop Authority.
