How is Quest Management Xtensions licensed?
QMX—Configuration Manager is licensed per node (think DNS name). For example, a 100 node license will let you manage any combination of Mac OS X or iOS devices, such as: 50 iPads, and 50 Mac OS X computers, or 75 iPads and 25 Mac OS X computers, etc.
What user license quantities are available?
There is a ten node minimum for QMX—Configuration Manager Apple Edition.
Can I move licenses from one server to another?
You can, but this requires creating a new key. Please contact your account manager for assistance.
What happens if I exceed my license count?
You will receive an error message stating that you do not have enough licensing.
Is an evaluation license available? What restrictions does it have?
QMX comes out of the box ready for 20 nodes for 30 days with no key required. After 30 days a new trial key can be generated if necessary. The instructions for doing so are provided in the “thank you for downloading” email that is sent immediately upon downloading the trial. The trial software is the same as the production software.
Can I extend my evaluation?
Yes. You can extend your trial in 30 day increments (only).
How do I find licensing information? How many licenses have I installed? How many licenses I have used?
In the QMX Admin Console, click on Tools | Software Licensing
How do I install the Management Console on multiple workstations?
