How is Cirrus licensed?
Cirrus Configuration Manager can manage almost any network device, including routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and other SNMP-enabled devices. Cirrus is licensed by the number of managed objects or nodes, which is defined as an entire device – i.e., a router, a switch, a server, an access point, or a modem.
The following list provides the different types of Cirrus Configuration Manager licenses available:
DL50 for up to 50 devices
DL100 for up to 100 devices
DL200 for up to 200 devices
DL500 for up to 500 devices
DL1000 for up to 1000 devices
DL3000 for up to 3000 devices
DLX for an unlimited number of devices

What devices can be managed by Cirrus?
Cirrus Configuration Manager supports many types of network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points from multiple hardware vendors. Device command templates for Cisco Systems, Nortel Networks, Motorola, Extreme Networks, Dell, HP, Adtran, Aruba Networks, ARRIS, Marconi, Foundry Networks, Fortinet, Enterasys Cabletron, Citrix Systems, Radware, Juniper Networks, and many others are included out-of-the-box.
How do I integrate Cirrus with Orion?
Currently, the Orion Syslog Server or Orion Trap Receiver can be used in conjunction with Cirrus to detect configuration changes, notify users of configuration changes, and automatically backup the changed configurations. Additionally, devices discovered within the Orion Network Discovery tool can easily be imported into the Cirrus Configuration Manager database. Orion also provides several Cirrus resources for viewing Cirrus configurations and Cirrus reports from the Orion website.
How is the data collected by Cirrus stored?
Cirrus stores all configuration, inventory, and policy data within a Microsoft® SQL database.
What is the difference between Engineer's Toolset Cisco Config Tools and Cirrus?
Engineer's Toolset configuration tools enable you to easily backup a configuration or roll-out a configuration change to one device at a time. On the other hand, Cirrus Configuration Manager makes it easy to backup configurations from multiple devices or roll out changes to multiple devices at one time. In addition, Cirrus provides numerous advanced features, such as scheduled configuration tasks, IOS roll-out capabilities, configuration change detection, policy compliance reporting, inventory reporting, configuration change reporting, and more.
Can multiple devices be backed up at one time?
Yes. Cirrus enables you to select multiple devices and automatically download the configuration files simultaneously. Configuration Backups can also be scheduled to run on a regular basis.
Can configuration changes be rolled out to multiple devices at one time?
Yes. With a few mouse clicks, Cirrus enables you to select a group of devices and then upload commands to the selected nodes simultaneously. Configuration changes can also be scheduled to run at a later date or time.
Can Cirrus push out IOS images?
Yes. Cirrus enables you to push out new IOS images to devices. This action can be performed in real-time or scheduled for a late date and/or time.
Can device configurations be imported into Cirrus?
Yes. Text based configurations can easily be imported into Cirrus. Simply highlight the desired device within Cirrus, select the configuration file within Windows Explorer, and drag the selected file to the Cirrus node list. The new file will be labeled as an imported file.
