USB Port Security to Prevent Data Theft
-
USB Security is a perfect tool to help corporations enforce their USB port security policies. Using USB Security to block unauthorized USB devices is both more efficient and cost-effective than other methods used to enforce USB port security policies such as video surveillance systems. Blocking unauthorized USB devices from being connected to all computers on the network effectively prevents leaks of confidential information through the use of pocket-size high-capacity USB storage devices, and helps combat data theft.
-
USB Security securely blocks all unauthorized USB devices, effectively preventing computer users from connecting devices that can be used for storing and transferring data without proper authorization. Such devices include, but are not limited to flash memory sticks, USB thumb drives, memory cards, external hard disks, and even digital cameras and MP3 players connected via USB or FireWire interfaces. Note that the regular work is not affected as USB Security can be configured to permit using certain USB devices such as printers, scanners, keyboards and mice.
-
Network administrators can configure and manage all installations of USB Security remotely over the network, making enforcing corporate USB port security policies simple.
